NEW YORK, NY - The campaign to Don’t Rank Eric or Andrew for Mayor (DREAM) has reached the ears of one of its targets, Mayor Eric Adams.
During an in-person press conference, the mayor was confronted by a reporter about NYC Comptroller and mayoral candidate Brad Lander’s support for DREAM, and being linked together with Cuomo. Adams was visibly discomfited by the question before pivoting, as seen in a video produced by the DREAM campaign.
“In less than a week, the call to Don’t Rank Eric or Andrew for Mayor has already sent shockwaves in the Democratic mayoral primary,” said the campaign. “But with disgraced former governor Andrew Cuomo now officially entering the primary, it is imperative that every political organization, mayoral candidate, and union echo our call to make sure that the two men most responsible for harming New York don’t take another bite out of the Big Apple. ”
DREAM’s message has been shared by political figures including state Assemblymembers, Senators, and mayoral candidates, and has been featured in Streetsblog, The City, and The Nation. The multimedia campaign, whose funders include The Jewish Vote, promises further merchandise, in-person actions, and more.
